My Summer Car
I love Finnish games. I swear you can smell it when a game comes out of Suomi; Fear and Hunger and Ultrakill have the same sort of quality I can only describe as "of course this was made in Finland". Add Noita to the mix and you have the autistic trans women trinity (affectionate). My Summer Car has all the Eurojank I expect, know, and love out of games from there. Expect bugs, inexplicable mechanics, and retrying things often until you get it right.
I'll admit to being in way over my head when it comes to building the car, I got all my mechanical knowledge from handing my buddy tools while he worked on his two door Nissan and watching Garbage Time. That is to say, enough to nod my head along and explain on a 5th grade level how any part of the car works, but nothing beyond that. Sadly it takes me out of the 1995 experience looking at a guide on my phone while I put the sprocket cluster in the driveinator.
The lifesim elements are more my speed, figuring out how to drive a tractor while spamming the swear button was real. And drinking a beer while eating "pizza med malet kött" (I speak Swedish but no Finnish) felt like I was 17 and home alone all over again! I think I've got it down this run, this one WILL be the one to build the car incorrectly a hundred times and wrap around a tree going 60km/h or my name isn't Fitta Helvete.
